We are back with a beautiful photo series of one of our publications by The Book Photographer! This time we will take a look at the award winning (Best Dutch Book Designs 2021, professional & student jury) publication Rollable Ramblings. Koen Taselaar.

As we speak, the jury of the Best Dutch Book Designs 2022 is already busy selecting this years 33 publications. Our very own Eleonoor Jap Sam, founder and publisher of Jap Sam Books is part of the 2022 professional jury! The nominations will be revealed soon, but before that happens we would like to share last years catalogues and jury report including two publications by Jap Sam Books: Rollable Ramblings. Koen Taselaar (professional and student jury) and Repairing Earthquake Project 2011-2021 (student jury).

The grand opening of the Prix de Rome Architecture 2022 exhibition named Healing Sites took place last week. The healing sites the nominated architects worked on during the past months will be on show until April 9th, 2023 in Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam. 

The nominees for the Black Achievement Awards 2022 have been announced! The Black Achievement Awards Ceremony took place on October 31st in the DeLaMar Theatre in Amsterdam.

Eleonoor Jap Sam, founder and editor of Jap Sam Books has been nominated in the entrepreneurship category. 

The jury of the Prix de Rome has selected four entries for the shortlist for the Prix de Rome 2022 Architecture: Healing Sites from 53 anonymous entries. The Prix de Rome is the oldest and most generous award in the Netherlands for visual artists under the age of 40 and architects under the age of 35. Jap Sam Books will publish the accompanying publication. Today we will introduce you to the architects and their submission for the open call from which they were selected.

Amsterdam, 31 May 2022 - Visual artist Remy Jungerman receives the Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Art 2022, the biggest visual art prize in the Netherlands. The jury praises the artist for the way he interweaves the cultures of the countries that define him, Suriname, the Netherlands, and the United States.

From now on the second print of The Public Interior as Idea and Project by artist and designer Mark Pimlott is available for purchase! First released in 2016 and declared one of the Best books of 2016: Architecture and Design by the Financial Times.
