Book event '[UN]FINISHED' February 8th Nieuwe Instituut, Rotterdam

Book event '[UN]FINISHED' February 8th Nieuwe Instituut, Rotterdam
One of our latest publications [UN]FINISHED: Atlas of Athens' Incomplete Buildings - A Story of Hidden Antimonuments will be presented during the first edition of Omnibus on February 8th, a new series of book events at the Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam. In each edition, presentations and talks will highlight two new publications. We are excited to be part of this evening!

Graphic designer Sam de Groot, artist and researcher Maria Lalou, and architect Skafte Aymo-Boot will engage in a conversation about their publication [UN]FINISHED. Drawing from a decade of research, they will share insights into the challenges and decisions involved in transforming an archive into a book.

This evening will wrap up with the screening of the two-channel video projection titles The Barbaresou Legacy of the Cursed One by Lalou and Aymo-Boot.

February 8th, 19:30-21:00

With this work in the form of a book, Maria Lalou & Skafte Aymo-Boot present the phenomenon of a particular pending architecture mutely present all over Athens. The concrete skeletons of polykatoikia - multi-story apartment buildings - are emblematic of the development of modern Greece throughout the second half on the twentieth Century.

The publication was made possible with the generous support of The J.F. Costupoulos Foundation and the Danish Arts Foundation
